Our Community

Engaging with those around us

MTH is committed to working collaboratively with the local communities surrounding our projects. Through this we gain public confidence as a trusted partner, as well as pushing our mission to progress attitudes to green energy at ground level. By engaging with host communities we deliver economic benefits which reinforce the idea of circularity throughout the region and its local communities.

Creating strong local partnerships

We strive to connect positively with the communities in which we work. Underpinning this is the direct creation of local jobs in our projects and in turn the growth of indirectly linked jobs in the local economy.

Part of this commitment involves being active members of the DAF Fund, set up to support the local economy. Currently, 70% of this goes to
pre-designated local stakeholders (including but not limited to Changhua County Government and Changhua Fishery Association) and 30% to local community projects in the Changhua area. All payments will be made once the project has obtained an EBL.

As of date, the Greater Changhua 1 Wind Farm project has created 7,200 local job opportunities during construction period.

ReCoral initiative

We are proud to support Ørsted on it's ReCoral initiative:

Ørsted sets out to discover whether offshore wind turbine foundations could provide a new safe haven where corals can potentially flourish. By using surplus coral spawn from the shorelines of the Penghu Islands, incubating them in a laboratory until they become viable coral larvae, and applying them to the wind turbine foundations at the Greater Changhua 1 offshore wind farm, the ReCoral by Ørsted™ is a non-invasive methodology that if proven successful could be scaled and support marine ecosystems.
